Letters to the Editor Important Planning Board hearing To the Editor: Dear Westminster Residents: In the near future Joseph's Bistro will be torn down. Please attend an important Planning Board hearing to discuss a proposal to redevelop the former Joseph's Bistro at 97 Main St. into a mixed-use three tenant building. One tenant will have a drive-thru window along the rear of the building with a drive-thru lane along two sides of the building. The Planning Board hearing will take place on Monday, March 26, at 8:30 p.m. in Meeting Room #3 (Room 222) at the new Town Hall, 11 South Street, Westminster. When surveyed, the majority of respondents said they appreciate and want to protect the rural character of Westminster. Ask questions about traffic and how the developer and the town plan on addressing the additional traffic that will be generated by a drive through business. It is already congested on Main Street. How many of you have had near misses when accessing or leaving the Center of Town to do your shopping or banking? We have a traditional New England Main Street and residents should get all the facts before making a decision if this is appropriate for our Main Street. Please attend the hearing Monday, March 26, and ask any pertinent questions you may have. Silence is acceptance! He played and sang numerous Irish tunes, with audience participation on some of the numbers. His performance was sponsored in part by the Ashburnham Cultural Council, which supports many cultural events in Ashburnham throughout the year. The club appreciates being able to have Mr. Pender as their entertainment, with their assistance. Janice Hebb Publicity Chairman |
