Townsend Methodist Church will host a Ready Set Crop's "Cabin Fever" scrapbooking event from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the church, 265 Main St., Townsend. The Ashburnham Historical Society and Rick Allain will host a Maple Sugaring Demonstration and pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. at 60 Russell Hill Road. The event will be followed by a meeting of the historical society's members and any new members. Free; all welcome.

Join Emily Norton on the first weekend of Spring for a hike in Townsend State Forest from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hikers will meet at the Memorial Hall parking lot behind the Town Hall building in Townsend Center. Proceeds to benefit the only local shelter providing transitional housing and support services to families facing homelessness because of job loss or financial crisis. The 6th Annual Ashburnham-Westminster Community Benefit Hockey Game will be held at 5 p.m. at the Iorio Arena on the campus of Cushing Academy, Ashburnham. This year's game will benefit the family of Cris Rasmussen. Cris is a 4th grade student at Briggs Elementary School, Ashburnham. He has spina bifida and hycrocephalus and is confined to wheelchair. Proceeds to help offset the cost of a van with a special lift/ ramp to help with Cris's transportation.
