New members welcomed to join "Circle of Artists"

"Circle of Artists" is a group of aspiring artists from Westminster and surrounding communities that meet twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the American Legion Hall/Westminster Senior Center, located at 127 Main St., Westminster.

Members of this group explore art in a diversity of media that include watercolor, pastel, oil, colored pencil, collage and photography. They share their knowledge and skills and learn from each other and are very fortunate to have Joanna Draugsvold, Master of Art, from The Studio in Winchendon, as an instructor.

Woman's Club announces scholarship applications

The Westminster Woman's Club announces that scholarship applications are now available. Westminster female residents who are high school seniors or who are enrolled in dual or advanced placement programs in college are encouraged to apply for the scholarships. There are two general scholarships awarded in the amount of $300 each. Applicants may use their school's common application for scholarships, or contact Denise MacAloney, 34 Academy Hill Road, Westminster, MA 01473 to receive an application or get further information.
