Myllymaki re-elected to a threeyear term on credit union board

Wilho J. Myllymaki, of Ashby, a retired director of purchasing for United Cooperative Farmers, Inc., was re-elected as one of the directors of Worker's Credit Union.

The Credit Union elected four directors at its 92nd annual meeting of members on Tuesday, March 20, in its main office in Fitchburg.

The membership re-elected Myllymaki to a three-year term along with T. Francis Wada, of Leominster. James E. Rouse, president and CEO of Micron Products, Inc. in Fitchburg, and Reinaldo Lopez, president and CEO of Resource Management, Inc. in Fitchburg, were also elected by the membership to threeyear terms.

A board member since in 1985, Myllymaki served as past chairman of the board of directors and is currently on the Audit and Investment Committee.

Following the election of directors, Frederick D. Healey, president and CEO, highlighted many of the credit union's accomplishments for 2006.

"Ninety-five cents of every dollar deposited in the credit union was re-distributed to members in the form of loans," noted Healey. "The credit union's primary mission is to extend credit to its members." Healey noted the successful merger of

Crobank Credit Union of Westminster and Leominster based Peoples Community Credit Union, with and into the credit union.

"Both these mergers are perfect fits and added an excellent branch location at Water Tower Plaza in Leominster to our growing network of twelve branches."

Workers' Credit Union, founded in 1914, is headquartered in Fitchburg and has twelve offices in Acton, Chelmsford, Fitchburg, Gardner, Groton, Lancaster, Leominster, Lunenburg, Orange, Townsend and online at wcu.com.
