OBITUARIES June P. Hawkins, 75 Was First Matron for Town of Westminster

WESTMINSTER - June P. (Buron) Hawkins, 75, of 1 Lake Drive West, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007. at home after an illness.

She was born in Fitchburg on June 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marcelline (Brown) Buron. She was educated in Fitchburg Schools.

June and Leroy were married on September 25, 1948.

Mrs. Hawkins was the First Matron for the Town of Westminster.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Hawkins leaves her husband of 58 years, Leroy A. Hawkins, Sr.; one son and daughter-in-law, Leroy A. Jr. and Lisa Hawkins; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dream and Jim Witzgall and Brenda and Mike Petalas, all of Westminster; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Tuominen Family Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Sovereign Bank, 346 Timpany Boulevard, Gardner, MA 01440. The Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller- Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main St., Westminster, is in charge of arrangements.
