League helps local effort

The William J. Bresnahan Memorial Scouting Building Committee was presented with $500 from the Marine Corps League during their March meeting. The presenting Marines are Paul Vinciguerra, Paul Malboeuf, and Richard Chapman. Vinciguerra lived in Ashburnham for several years. Chapman is from Ashburnham. They both are Korean War Veterans. Malboeuf, is a Vietnam Veteran and returned the personal belongings from Bill Bresnahan to his sister Lorraine Skaife.

The goal of the William J. Bresnahan Scouting and Community Memorial Park Committee is to revitalize the William J. Bresnahan Pool area to provide a place for families to go to relax and enjoy the natural area. We are fundraising to remove the existing Boy and Girl Scout buildings, restore the natural beauty of the park and construct a Community Center first for use by the Ashburnham Boy and Girl Scouts and secondly for the community.
