Town prepares to celebrate

The planning for the Ashby 240th Anniversary Celebration is all about the people of town.
The Ashby 240th Anniversary Committee will hold its dinner and a show plans for Saturday, April 28. The show will be "Ashby … It's All About People," which will begin at 7 p.m.
The dinner will be a buffet starting at 5:30 p.m. with turkey pot pie and all the fixings, cranberry sauce, salad and dessert. Tickets are limited, say committee members.
The show will start with a recognition of all of the selectmen who served Ashby over the course of the last 40 years by Bill Seymour, who is the town's "mayor."
Local residents Debbie O'Halon and Peter Fischamn will sing a song they wrote about their home in Ashby.
The local children will participate as parts of their Boy and Girl Scouts troops as well as the students as Irish step dancers and the Michelle Goodwin's School of Dance.

Tickets for both the dinner and the show will be $10 for those 13 and older; $8 for senior citizens, $6 for children between 6 and 12 and children under 6 are free.
Tickers for the show are $5 for adults and $1 for children and students.
