Shedd named to honor roll

Martin Shedd, of Ashburnham, has been named to the academic honor roll for the winter term at Northfield Mount Hermon School, in Gill.

Local students honored at FSC

Fitchburg State College students were recently honored with academic awards for "excellence in scholarship" at the college's 30th annual Spring Honors Convocation.

Local students receiving individual awards from academic departments went to: Michelle Kaddy of Westminster, the Outstanding Graduate Student in Elementary Education Award; Matthew Jatkola of Ashburnham, the Outstanding Senior in Art; Benjamin Mettey of Westminster, the Photography Student of the Year; David Lustig of W. Townsend, the Outstanding Senior in Computer Science; and Lauren Travis of Townsend, the Alex Donkor Award for Excellence in Economics.

The Distinguished Scholar Award went to Lauren Travis of Townsend

Bridget Tucker of Westminster, member of the Leadership Academy, was honored as a Commonwealth Scholars and Sandra Fowke of Townsend was recognized as a President Scholar.
