ACT 3rd FridayCoffeehouse to be held May 18

An exciting evening of music is planned for the final ACT 3rd Friday coffeehouse of the season at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Stevens Memorial Library, 20 Memorial Drive.

The featured performer of the evening will be Gardner's Chair City Pipers. This female a capella group will entertain the audience with a varied program of "oldies but goodies" sung in a balanced barbershop quartet style. At times the singers will invite the audience to carry the tune while they ad lib against it, so be sure to bring those singing voices with you. The group has been entertaining locally for over 30 years and has become a favorite with audiences whenever they perform. Each Thursday evening at 7 p.m. the Pipers can be found rehearsing in the Wakefield Community Room, corner of Pine and Cross streets, in Gardner. If you enjoy this type of singing they invite you to join them.

Baked goods as well as coffee and herbal teas will be available. Suggested donation is $5. For information, call Lois Somers at (978) 827-4301. Also, please bring your old cell phones to be recycled.
