Wojciak earns Academic All-District

On May 10, former Spartan pitcher Rebecca Wojciak, who was second in the Ivy League with an earned run average of 1.86, set a career high in runs scored and doubles.

The 2005 Oakmont Regional High School graduate is one of two Yale pitchers, who were named to the ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District I second team.

Wojciak, a sophomore who has yet to declare a major, led the Yale pitching staff in wins - seven; strikeouts - 62; innings - 97.2; starts - 15; and complete games - 8. In nine Ivy League appearances, she had a 1.89 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 55.2 innings. She was named the Most Valuable Player for the season

The Bulldogs ended the season with a 21- 21 overall record, the fourth time in the last five years they finished with a .500 or better record.
