Christian Performing Arts Center Open Dance Auditions for Faces of Eve

FITCHBURG - The Christian Performing Arts Center

CPAC) and NYC dance company, Guidance Productions, announces open dance auditions for their season opening production, Faces of Eve. Ellen Guglietti, Artistic Producer, choreographer and dancer for Guidance, Inc., will explore the female journey and search for God's light, through modern dance. Choreographers for this show will also include former Sean Curran dancer, Tony Guglietti and Guidance Productions' Associate Artistic Director and dancer, Amanda Page.

Auditions will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 2, for advanced/professional adult dancers, ages 18 and over. Five principal adult dancers will be offered a performance stipend.

Rehearsals will begin during the summer on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Performances will run for two weekends at the end of September.

Auditions will be held at the Christian Performing Arts Center, 914 Main St.

Whimsical drama "Moonscape to Treescape" to be performed

FITCHBURG - The Christian Performing Arts Center's Youth Theatre Company, in collaboration with the North County Land Trust and the Fitchburg Art Museum, will present the environmental fable "Moonscape to Treescape" at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Fitchburg Art Museum, 185 Elm St. This whimsical drama, geared toward children of all ages, promises to enlighten, educate, and entertain. "Moonscape to Treescape" will be presented alongside the Fitchburg Art Museum's exhibition of Frank Gohlke's Photographic Essay of the Sudbury River, which is closing the same day. Although the play is presented at no charge, admission to the Fitchburg Art Museum is free to members and all children under 12; $7 for adults; and $5 for students and seniors. Theatre at the Mount accepting applications for summer drama programs

GARDNER - Mount Wachusett Community College/ Theatre at the Mount, in Gardner, is now accepting applications for Summer Drama Programs for children and teenagers. All three programs feature a performance for family and friends on the last evening of camp.

The Theatre Bug is for children in grades 1 and 2 (by fall of 2007) and is a two-week introduction to the wonderful world of theatre for the very young student. This eight-day program meets from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 9 to July 12 and July 16 to July 19.

Lights! Stage! Action! is for children in grades 3 through 8 (by fall of 2007) and takes a script from page to stage in just two weeks. Two eight-day sessions are offered. Session A meets 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 9 to July 12 and July 16 to July 19; Session B meets 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 23 to July 26 and July 30 to Aug. 2.

Spotlight on Musical Theatre is a program for students in grades 9 through 12 (by fall of 2007). Students learn the basics of song and dance while experiencing the thrill of performing in musical numbers from Broadway shows. This eight-day program meets 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 23 to July 26 and July 30 to Aug. 2.

St. Bernard's announces annual golf tournament

FITCHBURG - St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School will sponsor its Alumni/Parent Golf Tournament on June 4, at Townsend Ridge Country Club. The luncheon begins at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Cost is $125 per play and includes lunch, 18 holes of golf, cart, gift and dinner. Sponsorships are available, cost is $200. Applewild School to host golf tournament benefit

Applewild School of Fitchburg will host its 9th Annual Golf Tournament benefit on Monday, June 4, at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club, Boylston. This will be a scramble format with contests, awards and prizes on this challenging and beautiful golf course. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a luncheon and Shot Gun Start at 1 p.m. Cocktail hour and the Award Dinner will commence at 6 p.m. Sponsorship levels of Platinum $2500, Gold $1750, Silver $1250 and Bronze $900 are available, and the cost per round is $200.

Dinner only is available at $40 per person. Proceeds from the tournament will be used to purchase items that are not in the operating budget of Applewild School.

Lions Club to host dog-athon walk/run

FITCHBURG - The 12th Annual Fitchburg Community Lions Club "Walkin Dog-AThon" will be held on Sunday, June 3, at Coolidge Park, Fitchburg. Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by the fun/walk at 9 a.m. Proceeds to benefit NEADS, a non-profit established to provide hearing and service dogs for people who are hearing impaired or used wheelchairs. Come to the event with a dog or without. The two-mile walk goes around Coolidge Park walking path. Water and refreshments will be provided. Held rain or shine.
