US swim coach to hold clinic in Gardner

Greenwood Memorial Swim Club, a Silver Medal Club by USA Swimming, will be hosting a weekend swim clinic Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10, at the Gardner Memorial Outdoor Pool in Gardner.

The clinic will be instructed by Don Lemieux - the USA National Team coach and coach of Olympic Gold medalist Samantha Arsenault - and his staff of ASCA certified coaches. This is an opportunity for swimmers in the area to participate in this program in order to enhance their strokes and racing abilities in preparation for the long course swim season's USA sanctioned meets and championships.

Age Group swimmers will be training with the emphasis on technique of all four basic strokes, starts and finishes, as well as racing. The focus with the Pre- National and National swimmers will be training.

Greenwood Memorial Swim Clinic Schedule is as follows:

Saturday, June 9 - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Age Group Swimmers; 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Pre-National/National

Sunday, June 10 - 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for Age Group Swimmers; 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for Pre-National/National

The cost is $50 for Age Group Swimmers and $100 for Pre-National and National level swimmers. Any swimmers interested in participating in this training clinic must be able to swim a 100-yard Individual Medley (25 yards of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle).
