St. Bernard's to host summer carnival

FITCHBURG - St. Bernard's Elementary School, 254 Summer St., Fitchburg will host its annual Summer Carnival Wednesday, June 20, through Saturday, June 23. In addition to the many amusement rides, food, games, and casino tent, the community is invited to Wristband Days on Wednesday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m., Outback Steakhouse & WXLO on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., ReMax Balloon rides (weather permitting) and the Relaxation Spa massages on Friday, Saturday meet "Finz" the Worcester Sharks mascot from 4 to 6 p.m., get your children fingerprinted by The Molly Bish Foundation from 3 to 7 p.m., enjoy a chicken barbecue from 4:30 to 7 p.m., capped off with a fireworks display at 11 p.m.

Hours for the carnival are Wednesday, June 20, from 6 to 10 p.m.; Thursday, June 21, from 6 to 10 p.m.; Friday, June 22, from 6 to 11 p.m.; and Saturday, June 23, from 2 to 11 p.m.

Hiking for the Kids to benefit local children with cancer

WORCESTER - The Why Me non-profit charity serving local families of children with cancer is hosting their first Hiking for the Kids event on Sunday, June 24, at Wachusett Mountain State Park, Princeton. Registration and hike is ongoing and runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The easy to moderate terrain begins at Bicentennial Trail near the Visitor Center. Trail information will be available at registration. Complimentary water and snacks provided, plus a silent auction will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A $25 minimum pledge is requested per hiker. Fitchburg Art Museum Announces Summer Classes

FITCHBURG - Nearly 40 classes, including summer art camps for children, will be presented by Fitchburg Art Museum this summer starting in July. TD Banknorth will sponsor two free workshops for families as part of the 72nd Regional Exhibition of Art and Craft, which opens Sunday, June 24. "There will be art camps for children age 6 and up with a variety of themes including painting, sculpture, sewing, cartooning, drawing and printmaking," explains Studio Program Director Susan Dekant. "These are weeklong programs beginning July 9 through Aug. 17. Adult programs include yoga, dance, painting, drawing, gardening, writing, figure drawing, and printmaking.
