Aili (Hintila) Kahkola, 90 Was a homemaker; longtime Westminster resident WESTMINSTER - Aili (Hintila) Kahkola, 90, of 13 Elliot St., died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Birchwood Care Center, after an illness. She was born in Clinton on April 13, 1917, the daughter of the late John and Aino Hintila. Mrs. Kahkola was a homemaker and a member of the Finnish Dance Club in Westminster. She was the wife of the late Eli Peter Kahkola who died June 5, 2002. They were married at their residence on June 23, 1940. Mrs. Kahkola leaves one daughter and son-in-law, Aileen and Sheldon Hecht of Delaware; two grandchildren, Marc Hecht and Adam Hecht both of Maryland; three great-grandchildren, Connor Hecht, Griffin Hecht, and Rachel Hecht all of Maryland; one sister, Honey Butterfield of Westminster; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Eino Hintila A private graveside service in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Westminster, will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Westminster Fire Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 640, Westminster, MA 01473. The Westminster Chapel of Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main St., Westminster, is assisting the family with arrangements. |
