Local library has lots to offer in July The Forbush Memorial Library, located at 118 Main St., is now offering a new reference service and way to contact your local library - the ask-a-librarian e-mail reference service by e-mailing the library at askalibrarian@westminster ma.gov. The account will be monitored on business days when the library is open, and questions will be answered as soon as possible. There won't be any programs at Forbush the week of July 2 through July 6, but here's what's happening the following week: On Tuesday, July 10, Music Classes with Lucia Melehor will be held at 1 p.m. for children ages 4 to 6, and at 2 p.m. for children ages 7 to 11. No registration required. On Wednesday, July 11, storytime for children up to 6 years old will be held at 11 a.m. Also on Wedesday, Wolftalk will be presented at both 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Meetinghouse School gym. Registrations are required. On Thursday, July 12, Kindermusik will be held at 10:30 a.m. for children ages infant to 4 years old. No registration needed. Craft time will be held at 1 p.m. Children ages 5 and over can make a tambourine. Registration required. On Friday, July 13, its Friday Flicks at the Forbush beginning at 2 p.m. The library has a mixture of titles for its readers this week. For baseball fans, see "The Red Sox Fanatic" and "Baseball's Iron Man, Cal Ripken Jr., a tribute." While it may be summer now, in January many of us will be glad to read "Bahamas for Dummies, 4th edition." Some local folks have asked for books about falconry, and two recent arrivals are: Helen MacDonald's "Falcon" [including the history of falconry and facts about different kinds of falcons]" as well as William C. Oakes' "The Falconer's Apprentice," a guide to training the passage Red-tailed Hawk. The library has an eight volume set entitled "Fashions of a Decade," where each volume covers a decade from the 1920s through the 1990s. New audio book (CD) titles: "The Ministry of Special Cases," "The Quest" and "Bad Luck and Trouble". |
