Monty Tech team competes at WPI

The Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School's Robotics Team won second place in the Battlecry8 competition at Worcester Polytechnic Institute held on June 15 and 16.

This is the eighth year of the competition and a Monty Tech team has competed in six of the competitions. Team members attended the two-day event during which their robot competed in nine matches. The Monty Tech team consisted of students Kayla Harris, William Lowe, Dan Tremblay, and Jordan Uusitalo and graduate Justin Landry as well as advisors Rich Duncan and Jose Araya. The competition, named Rack & Roll, required the robots to place inflatable inner tubes on goals mounted on a center rack.

This event is an off-season version of the competitions held by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).
