Theatre at the Mount announces upcoming auditions

GARDNER - Theatre at the Mount announces auditions for the upcoming performances of "Miss Nelson Has a Field Day" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."

"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," by Dale Wasserman - based on the novel by Ken Kesey and directed by Lorien Corbelletti - is looking for a cast of 13 men and four women. Auditions will be held Sunday, July 29, at 6 p.m. sharp, in Room 182; and Tuesday, July 31, at 7 p.m. sharp, in the theatre at Mount Wachusett Community College. Cold readings from the script will be required. Tentative rehearsal schedule is Sundays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m., beginning Aug. 5.

"Miss Nelson Has a Field Day" is directed by Emily Ragusa, music directed by Rebecca Ufema, and choreographed by Thom Hardy. Audition dates are Monday, July 30, and Tuesday, July 31, at 6 p.m. sharp in Room 182 at Mount Wachusett Community College. The cast calls for an ensemble of eight to 12 members (mix of male and female) ages 14 and up. A short vocal selection will be taught to all teens that audition; wear comfortable clothing for dance audition; and, expect cold-readings from the script. Tentative rehearsal schedule is Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning Aug. 21. "Miss Nelson" will be performed at local elementary schools on Oct. 11, 12, 25, 26 and Nov. 1; and at the Mount on Oct. 27 at 2 p.m.
