Elizabeth Ann (Laughton) Nyman, 72
She was born in Worcester on Feb. 16, 1935, the daughter of the late Dugal and Helen (White) Laughton. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School and earned her Bachelors Degree from Fitchburg State College in English. She also earned her Masters from Anna Maria College in counseling. She worked as social worker for the MSPCC. Elizabeth was a member of the Westminster Cultural Commission, the League of Woman Voters, served as a Deacon and served on various committees and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Westminster, for over 50 years, she was a volunteer for literacy, and at the Fitchburg Art Museum and a longtime member of Great Books. She leaves her husband of 55 years, Don Nyman; one son, Scott Nyman of Coatsville, Pa.; three daughters, Dawn Perron of Fitchburg, Karin Farrow of Lancaster, and Cynthia Olliff of Coatsville, Pa.; eight grandsons; one granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Herbert Laughton of Ashburnham. She was predeceased by a son, Andrew Nyman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01604.
