Election information

The town will hold a special election on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at John R. Briggs Elementary School between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. The sole question on the ballot will be whether to raise the tax levy limit to allow for $313,687 in additional money for the schools.

Absentee ballots must be requested by noon on Aug. 13 by contacting the Town Clerk's Office at (978) 827-4104 or visiting the Town Hall offices located in the rear of Oakmont Regional High School.

Road Race honors memories of Brian Simmons and William J. Bresnahan

The third annual Brian's Gift Road Race will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Winchester Park, Ashburnham. This year's proceeds will be donated to the William J. Bresnahan Scouting and Community Center, the site where Brian participated in the Ashburnham swimming lesson and scouting programs. Events include a 4.5 mile road race (runners and walkers welcome); a Chinese auction; face painting and children's activities; raffles, food and music.
