      For weeks and even months now the residents of Ashburnham and Westminster have been debating whether or not to fund the school budget through overrides of Propositions 2 1/2, and therefore increase the tax base. During the debates there have been many arguments against increasing the tax base.

      To the Editor: It was only two years ago that we sat down to write a similar letter at a similarly critical period for the Ashburnham Westminster Regional School District. Our support for the upcoming override ballot vote on Tuesday, Aug.14, is as fervent as it was in 2005.
