Oakmont freshmen parent-student night

A new event this year at Oakmont Regional will be a Freshmen Parent- Student Orientation Night on Monday, Aug. 27, from 6 - 8 p.m. Freshmen students will receive their class schedule and will participate in introductory activities with the Student Council including a scavenger hunt, locker opening, and ice breakers. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions to administrators, sophomores, and possibly some teachers and guidance counselors. Students and parents will also have the opportunity to explore the school.

Registration for new middle school

Overlook Middle School will be registering new students who reside in Ashburnham or Westminster entering grades 6, 7, and 8 on Tuesday, August 21, and Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please call (978) 827- 1422 to set up an appointment to register your child.

Basket weaving class

The Westminster Historical Society will present a Basket Weaving workshop at 6 p.m. at the American Legion, 127 Main St., Westminster. Participants will make a 10-inch round basket with handle. Cost of the class is $35. For information, or to register, contact Ceil Burgess at (978) 874-5463.
