Douglas Richard Connors, 53
Enjoyed time with family and friends

WESTMINSTER - Douglas Richard Connors, 53, of Westminster, lost his spirited fight against cancer and diabetes on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at UMass Hospital, Worcester.

Doug was the son of the late Alfred R. Connors of Everett, where Doug was raised and educated. In 1982 he graduated from Fitchburg State College with a Bachelors of Science in human services and later was enrolled in the Masters program in counseling also at Fitchburg State College.

He was a member of the Westminster Lions Club, the North Worcester County Board of Realtors and a communicant of the First Congregational Church of Westminster. In addition, he coached Westminster Youth Basketball and Soccer teams.

Doug's employment history was diverse. He worked as an employment counselor with the Division of Employment and Training. Most recently, he was a realtor. Over the past 15 years, he also owned and operated The Perfect Mix disc jockeying at weddings and parties.

He will always be remembered as a man with a great sense of life who loved meeting, entertaining and helping people in any way that he could. During his lifetime, Doug was happiest when spending time with his family and friends.

Doug leaves his wife and best friend of 25 years, Jill (Stahl) Connors, and their three children, Shevaun M. Connors, Patrick D. Connors and Steven M. Connors all of Westminster; his mother, Mary E. (Murphy) Connors of Reading; two brothers, Kevin Connors and his family of Westminster and Kenneth Connors of Gardner; three sisters, Patricia Duzey and her family of Virginia Beach, Va., Mary Connors of San Francisco and Jean Connors of Medford. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Jean Stahl of Walpole; sisters- and brothers-in-law; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connors Family Scholarship Fund, c/o I-C Federal Credit Union, 101 Main St., Westminster, MA 01473; or may be left at the funeral home.
