John Manship, Jr., 69
Was resident of Ashburnham

ASHBURNHAM - John Manship, Jr., 69, of 55 Stodge Meadow Road, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital, Gardner after an illness.

He was born in Pittsfield on Oct. 10, 1937, the son of John and Frances (Wilcox) Manship and resided many years in Reading and Pittfield. He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.

For 15 years, Mr. Manship worked as a courier at Matheson Higgins/Congress Press Inc. in Woburn before his retirement in 2000. Prior to that he worked as a manager at the General Electric Facility in Pittsfield.

Mr. Manship is survived by his wife of 26 years, Gladys F. (Cebula) Manship; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven Manship and Alice Ling, Thomas and Sharon Manship all of Pittsfield, and Kevin and Dolores Manship of Colorado; two daughters, Wendy Berasi of Clarksburg and Donna LaCasse of Lanesboro; three stepsons, Stephen and his wife Marie Pepin of Londonderry, N.H., David Pepin and his wife Valerie Spinale - Pepin of Marshfield, and Thomas Pepin and his wife Sherie of Derry, N.H.; three sisters, Patricia Clark and Cheryl Barresi both of Virginia and Paula Vajda of Pennsylvania. He also leaves 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
