Annual Yankee Street Fair to be held

The annual Yankee Street Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, on the grounds of the First Congregational Church, 138 Main St., Westminster. The fair will feature a Harvest Booth, Baked Goods, Thrift Shop, Bargain Booth, Handyman Booth, Book Booth, a Ticket Auction of new items, and games and festivities for young and old.

A Chicken Barbecue will be served at 5 p.m. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time by calling the church at (978) 874- 5790; takeouts are available

Food will also be available all day in the Food Court and will include hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage, kapusta, corn chowder, and strawberry shortcake. There will be a DJ and several local musical groups, such as the Mugawumps, who will entertain visitors throughout the day.

Each year the First Congregational Church gives 10 percent of the proceeds of the Yankee Street Fair to a town organization. This year it was voted to give 10 percent of the proceeds to the the Senior Center. For more information, visit www.firstchurchwestminster. org
