Theatre at the Mount announces upcoming auditions GARDNER - Theatre at the Mount is looking for two or three male African American actors aged 18 or older for specific roles in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," by Dale Wasserman, based on the novel by Ken Kesey. Auditions will consist of cold-readings from the script and will be held by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, contact Gail Steele at (978) 630-9162 or g_steele@mwcc. mass.edu Performances are Oct. 5, 6, 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. Tentative rehearsal schedule is Sundays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m. Auditions have also been announced for Theatre at the Mount's December production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's "King and I." Director Peter Landry, Music Director Jeff Williams and Choreographer Nicole Couture are looking for a large ethnically diverse cast of up to 18 children and 40 adults. Auditions for children (ages 6 through 12) will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20 by appointment only at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. Children should come prepared with a short song to sing and will be taught a short dance audition. To schedule an appointment, call the TAM box office at (978) 632-2403. Auditions for adults and teens will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. sharp and Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. sharp. No appointment is needed for teens/adults - all should prepare a short vocal selection that displays range and ability; cold readings from the script will be required for main speaking roles. Anyone interested in a main role or a Royal Dancer will need to complete a dance audition. Auditions are held in Room 182 at Mount Wachusett Community College. Performances are Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 7, 8 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 2 and 9 at 2 p.m. Tentative rehearsal schedule is Sundays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 10 p.m. Children will rehearse on Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. with additional rehearsals closer to production.
