Looking forward to another year

Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical High School (Monty-Tech) starts the new school year on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

The school district is comprised of 18 local cities and towns.

Director/Superintendent James Culkeen is enthusiastic about the incoming freshmen class.

Students at Monty-Tech are able to select from 19 career/ technical areas, including the construction, health, service and technology trades.

The Class of 2011 will explore all 19 shops in the pre-exploratory program and then select nine shops to explore in depth for the first half of the school year. They then select their career/technical area.

Graduates accrue more than 1,500 hours in their specialized areas.

The combination of a challenging academic program and the high level skills learned in the career/technical areas has provided graduates with valuable opportunities.
