Enjoy the festivities at Annual Yankee Street Fair The annual Yankee Street Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, on the grounds of the First Congregational Church, 138 Main St., Westminster. The fair will feature a Harvest Booth, Baked Goods, Thrift Shop, Bargain Booth, Handyman Booth, Book Booth, a Ticket Auction of new items, and games and festivities for young and old. A Chicken Barbecue will be served at 5 p.m. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time by calling the church at (978) 874-5790; takeouts are available Food will also be available all day in the Food Court and will include hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage, kapusta, corn chowder, and strawberry shortcake. There will be a DJ and several local musical groups, such as the Mugawumps, who will entertain visitors throughout the day. Each year the First Congregational Church gives 10 percent of the proceeds of the Yankee Street Fair to a town organization. The Kids Area Resource Exchange (K.A.R.E.) will hold a bag sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Leominster High School cafeteria, Granite Street,

Leominster. The public is invited to shop for children's clothing, women's and maternity clothing, gear, toys, books, and videos. During the bag sale, individuals can fill a bag with children's clothing for $5, five bags for $20. A bag of women's adult and maternity wear is $10 per bag. Toys, videos, books, will be priced separately.

Check out lizards, turtles, snakes and more at a Rainforest Reptiles display from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Sunday, Aug. 26, at Davis' Farmland, 145 Redstone Hill Road, Sterling. For information, call (978) 422-MOOO.

Kickin' Cancer on the Common will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the West Boylston Town Common, Route 12. The event will feature crafters, children's activities, animal adventures, carnival games, face painting, music, food, drinks and ice cream. Proceeds to benefit Andrew's Helpful Hands. Fun in the Son will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at Lowe Playground, Elm Street,

Fitchburg. This free family fun day, sponsored by Elm Street Congregational Church, will feature free food, activities for all ages, and live Christian music. In the event of rain, the event will be held inside. For more information, call Pastor Steve at (978) 342-4257.

(Tickets must be prepaid and can be purchased at the lodge any day after 4 p.m.)

Our Lady of the Lake Church will hosts its annual bazaar from 5 to 10 p.m. on the parish grounds, 1400 Main St., North Leominster. This event will feature a Giant Kids Alley with Noah's Ark Play Space, and many activities for the young. There will also be a Giant White Elephant, Country Store, food, pot luck, a Chinese auction, raffles and games of chance. Music for the evening will be performed by the Twin City Fiddlers.

SATURDAY 8

The Fitchburg Lodge of Elks # 847 will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to noon at the lodge, located at 860 Ashby State Road. Proceeds to benefit veterans. Vendors are invited. Rental of tables are $10. Donations are accepted (no junk/no clothes) after 4 p.m. beginning Sept. 5. Remaining items will be picked up by Ginny's.

The Highlands, located at 335 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, will host their annual Yard Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds will be split between The Alzheimer's Association's Annual Memory Walk and Operation Christmas Child. Held rain or shine. For information, call (978) 343-4411.

The St. John's Annual Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Townsend Common. The day will feature a variety of booths, food, games, a country store, grandma's attic and crafters. Rain date is Sept. 9.
