Youth Soccer

The Wendell P. Clark Memorial YMCA is now accepting registrations for the Youth Soccer program for all children entering Kindergarten to sixth grade. Kindergarteners will work on skill development on Saturday mornings, while players in grades 1 to 6 will be grouped by grades to form divisions where they will practice once per week and play games on Saturdays at the Clark YMCA in downtown Winchendon.

All players are expected to attend the Players Clinic on Saturday, Aug. 25 to learn basic skills.

Little Kickers Division (grades 1 and 2): 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

US Soccer Division (grades 3 and 4): 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

World Cup Soccer Division (grades 5 and 6): 1 - 2:30 p.m.

Coaches will rank players in order to form balanced teams. Game schedule and Kindergarten group begins Saturday, Sept. 8. Game shirts included with program fee. Scholarships available for those who qualify. Please call (978) 297- 0869 or visit www.theclark.com for more information.

Youth Soccer Coaches' Clinic

The Wendell P. Clark Memorial YMCA is hosting a Coaches' Clinic on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. in the Clark Rink for any interested volunteer coaches of the upcoming Youth Soccer program. Veteran coaches and first time coaches are all welcome. Clinic conducted by Program Coordinators Phil Mallette and Shawn Shelley, experienced soccer players and coaches. Coaches will review program philosophy, basic skills, drills, creating a practice plan, and incorporating game rules into practices. Youth Field Hockey

The Wendell P. Clark Memorial YMCA is now accepting registrations for the Youth Field Hockey program for all children entering grades 3 to 8. Coach Kathleen Murphy will lead a group of quality instructors to offer skill development, emphasize teamwork, and encourage hard work while having fun. Oneweek day practice with Saturday scrimmages and game shirts included with program fee. Scholarships available for those who qualify.
