Police identify one, search for one in robbery Ashburnham Police are looking for two men that assaulted and robbed an 18-year-old Ashburnham man on the corner of Chapel and Water streets on Saturday, Aug. 25. The two suspects approached the teenager displaying a handgun and a stun gun at 7:36 p.m., according to police. Ashburnham Police Sgt. Todd Parsons said the victim and the suspects were acquaintances but the motive remains under investigation. Ashburnham police worked with Fitchburg police to identify one of the suspects as William Delgado, 18, of 280 Water St., Fitchburg. The Winchendon District Court has issued an arrest warrant for Delgado. "A search of this residence produced evidence of the gun, which turned out to be a look-a-like 45 Cal. pellet gun and stun gun," according to a written statement by Ashburnham police. Police have not identified the second suspect yet. The victim was pistol-whipped by one of the suspects, and also had the stun gun used on him, according to police. The victim received minor injuries and the police are with holding his name at this time. The suspects escaped the scene with the victim's cell phone and some money, while the victim was able to run to the police station where Sgt. Robert Brennan was entering the station. According to police the victim was able to describe the suspects, their vehicle and the direction in which they fled. Police say the incident is still under investigation. Parson adds that it appears to be an isolated incident. |
