Our Lady of the Lake Church will host its annual bazaar from 5 to 10 p.m. on the parish grounds, 1400 Main St., North Leominster. This event will
feature a Giant Kids Alley with Noah's Ark Play Space, and many activities for
the young. There will also be a Giant White Elephant, Country Store, food, pot
luck, a Chinese auction, raffles and games of chance. Music for the evening will
be performed by the Twin City Fiddlers.
8 SATURDAY
The Fitchburg Lodge of Elks # 847 will
hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to noon at the lodge, located at 860 Ashby State
Road. Proceeds to benefit veterans. Vendors are invited. Rental of tables are
$10. Donations are accepted (no junk/no clothes) after 4 p.m. beginning Sept. 5.
Remaining items will be picked up by Ginny's.
Faith United Parish will host its annual Yard and Bake Sale from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 820 Main St., Fitchburg. There will be something for everyone - toys, books, jewelry, cookies, cakes, dishes and baby items. For information, call (978) 343- 3307.
The Highlands, located at 335 Nichols Road,

The St. John's Annual Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Townsend Common. The day will feature a variety of booths, food, games, a country store, grandma's attic and crafters. Rain date is Sept. 9.
A "Back to School" scrapbooking event will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Townsend. Registration is $30 and includes: a continental breakfast, full lunch, dinner, beverages and snacks; scrapbook goodies; hourly door prizes; free use of die cut and stamping station and more. The Crockerville Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Crocker Park, corner of Wachusett and Westminster streets, Fitchburg. Crafters displaying jewelry, crossstitch, soaps, honey/wax products, wood items, ornaments/angel items, floral arrangements, cloth/country dolls, crochet items, quilts, and hand sewn items will be present. A Children's Area will also be featured including games, face painting, balloons, children's books, sand and edible art, and more. There will also be a refreshment table, bake sale, and church craft table. This event is sponsored by the Church of the Good Shepherd. Rain date is Sept. 15.
The 5th Annual Rootsfest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Roots Natural Foods, 100 Crawford St.,
Leominster. Astrology columnist and tarot reader Symboline Dai will hold astrological tarot readings between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Other events include free food samples, yoga and Reiki demonstrations, children's activities, and raffles. The 1st Annual Montachusett Mycological Society will host its first foray of the fall at 11 a.m., starting at DeLisle Chiropractic Office, 285 Central St., Suite 205, Leominster. A short discussion about mycology will be held, participants will then be provided directions to three different locations where they will be gathering mushrooms. The weekend lunchtime fest will include free hotdogs, ice cream, cotton candy, and soda for clients, friends, and neighbors to enjoy.
