Monty Tech honors long-time employees with pins

A number of staff members at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School were awarded service pins at a ceremony held during the staff's first day back for the 2007-2008 school year.

Superintendent James R. Culkeen and Principal Donald E. Cranson presented pins to those honored for the their years of service. Director of Technology R. William Ewing Jr. was the staff member honored for the longest service to the school district, which was 35 years.

The school's leaders also presented pins for 30 years of service to Special Education teachers Sherry C Anderson and Prudence P. Parsons, English teacher John H. Heimo III and physical education teacher Nancy L. LeBlanc. Three teachers - Nancy A. Lawrence, an English teacher; Deborah Lavoi, a math teacher; and Stephen Tata, the dean of students - were awarded pins for 25 years of service.

Eight employees were award for their 20 years of service to the school. Those staff members were Special Education teacher Susan Goguen, health occupation teacher Linda M. Gould, welding/metal fabrication teacher Richard E. Gould, payroll/benefits assistant Patricia A. LeBanc, Dean of Students Thomas Porter, guidance counselor Mark W. Haschig, drafting technology teacher George S. Tignor and vocational specialist John Fiandace.

Paul G. Barba, a cabinetmaking teacher, Gary Candelet, a guidance counselor, David J. Dion, an electronic technology teacher, John P. Dolen, a plumbing teacher, Brenda Dufour, an employee in the cafeteria, and Allan Magane, the plant supervisor were honored for the 15 years of service to the district.

There were also six members of the school district's staff honored for 10 years of service. Those six were Paula deDiego, a science teacher, David M. Frawley, a plumbing teacher, Linda E. Herbison, a business teacher, Noella Laitinen, a worker in the cafeteria, Sang Eng Oum, a math teacher, and Kathryn D. Schmidt, a social studies teacher.
