Mark S. Houle, 50
Was a self-employed contractor; U.S. veteran

ASHBURNHAM - Mark S. Houle, 50, of 17 S. High St., died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, on arrival at Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Springfield on April 24, 1957, the son of Joan B. (Petseki) Houle and the late Roland Houle. He was a 1975 graduate of Chicopee High School, Chicopee.

Mark was a self-employed contractor for Aurora Enterprise Inc. in Ashburnham, and spent most of his time working in his business.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and took several military courses during his three year enlistment.

Besides his mother, Joan B. (Petseski) Houle of Chicopee; Mark leaves his wife of four years, Ginny A. (Platt) Houle of Ashburnham; two daughters, Stephanie Houle and Stacey M. Houle both of Ayer; two stepsons, Airman 1st Class, Steven R. Tate stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, and Justin M. Tate of Ashburnham; one brother, Darryl Houle of Chicopee; two sisters, Donna Mason of Chicopee and Sharon Zabecki; one granddaughter, Sophie Houle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Steven Houle.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, Inc., 268 Central St., Gardner, MA 01440. Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, is in charge of arrangements.
