The JoJo White Celebrity Golf Classic, to benefit Andrew's Helpful Hands Foundation, Inc., will be held at Stow Acres Country Club,

Stow. The tournament will start at 8 a.m. with registration, followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and reception at 4 p.m. Join Boston Celtic legends JoJo White, Robert Parish and Cedric Maxwell. Cost is $145 per player; $500 per foursome. For more information, call (603) 703-3973.

A stem cell donor awareness benefit will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight at Monoosnock Country Club, Leominster. The benefit will feature live music, raffles and prizes. Donation is $10. This event is to benefit Chris Guilfoil's Lucky 13 Foundation.

15 SATURDAY

The Montachusett Regional YMCA will hold an Open House from 7:30 a.m. to noon at 55 Wallace Ave., Fitchburg. Anyone who comes and joins that day will receive a 30-day trial membership. For more information, contact Jenn Gordon at (978) 343-4847, Ext. 214.

The Johnny Appleseed Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. downtown Leominster. A concert will follow.

Join Team Tylor as they host an all day crop from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Clinton. All proceeds will benefit the CJ Foundation for SIDS/SUDC Program in memory of 1-year-old Tylor Pupecki, of Leominster, who passed in his sleep in November. The St. Denis Bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the church grounds, Route 12, Main Street, Ashburnham. Attic treasures will open at 7 a.m. for all those early birds. The bazaar will also feature food, raffles, music, auctions, gifts, homemade pies, children's games, face painting, a moonwalk, clowns, harvest foods, crafts, jewelry, and more.

St. Edward the Confessor Church will celebrate its Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on church grounds, 10 Church St., Westminster. The festival will feature fried dough, chili, New England clam chowder, many food booths, an indoor flea market, baked goods, handmade crafts, children's games, a moon walk, face painting, hay rides, a cash raffle, a silent auction, and more. The Ashby Historical Society will sponsor an Olde Tyme Country Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ashby Stock Farm, Main Street. There will be Artisans demonstrating early American crafts, hayrides, music, Contra, square and Finnish dancing, food, Native American exhibitors, Civil War re-enacters, Captain of the Marine Guard of the U.S.S. Constitution, a Grange exhibit, antique farm implements, early children's games, Morgan horses, freshly baked pies and more. Admission is $5 for ages 12 and over (kids under 12 are free). Join the Squanicook Colonial Quilt Guild for their 7th Biennial Quilt Show "Autumn Festival of Quilts" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday, Sept. 16. at North Middlesex Regional High School, Route 119, Townsend. Over 200 quilts will be displayed, including entries from the Guild's Challenges. There will be a variety of vendors as well as a chance auction, silent auction and door prizes. Admission is $5.

A Veterans Steamship Round Dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Fitchburg Lodge of Elks #847, 860 Ashby State Road. Dinner will include steak, potato, beans, salad, rolls, coffee and dessert. Tickets are $10 (limited sales) and must be purchased by Sept.13. Proceeds of this evening will benefit Veterans who are local and in need.

The St. Joseph's Monthly Dance will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. in St. Joseph's Parish Hall, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Music by MO-CO. Admission is $10.

16 SUNDAY

A Blood and Stem Cell donor drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fitchburg Central Fire Station, corner of Main and North streets. The Westminster Lions Club will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the V.F.W. Hall on Easton Street, Westminster. Proceeds to benefit the Westminster Boy Scouts. The breakfast includes pancakes, ham, orange juice, coffee and milk. Tickets are $3 (children under 6 years old eat free.)

The Mystery Book Club will hold its first meeting from 1 to 2 p.m. at Forbush Memorial Library, 118 Main St., Westminster. The exhibit, "Celestial Nights: Visions of an Ancient Land," will open at 6:30 p.m. in the Ellis White Lecture Hall of the Hammond Campus Center, Fitchburg State College, with an introduction to Folberg's work by communications media professor Peter Laytin.  HealthAlliance Hospital is hosting its fourth annual "Healthy Woman Healthy Choices" at 5:30 p.m. at the Four Points by Sheraton, 99 Erdman Way, Leominster. This event will feature a health fair and refreshments and a featured presentation with keynote speaker Alice Domar, PhD, who explores wellness care for women and its impact on a variety of health conditions.This is free event, but preregistration is required. The United Way and its volunteers will mark their 12th annual Day of Caring today stocking kitchen pantries, painting, cleaning, landscaping and reading to children.
