Resident upset by variety of ongoing town issues
Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

Where do we start, in this Town of Ashburnham - okay - The new public service building (police and fire). It was written that the building will be done in August 2008 - Any bets on that. Is it a construction company that we hired or two or three guys that work till two o'clock most, or some days? Is it my imagination or is that asphalt torn up in front of the site, but then I never saw a construction site tarred first, maybe this a new technique? Wow a new administrator, $91,000 a year that seems to me almost an electable salary. New sewer lines, over due that is great we finally got them, time to fix the road now maybe? Oh the Electric Company is putting up new poles, nice. They also clear-cut Park Street after telling residents that they would not cut the Old Growth Trees, only trim. Did anyone in town okay this? Are they going to put in the required lighting for the fire hydrants also according to regulations? And at least are they going to clean up the wood chips … I don't know but it seems to me this town is a mess, with no one controlling it, including our severe financial demise shown in the recent cut backs at the schools. That's it for now, thanks for letting me vent.
