Historical society to host flea market

The Westminster Historical Society will host its annual Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, at 110 Main St., Westminster. Collectibles, household items, books, children's items, plants, furniture, etc.will be sold. Volunteers are also needed on day of flea market. For more information, call Melody at (978) 874-2008.

Local library seeks veterans and volunteers for special program

The Forbush Memorial Library, located at 118 Main St., would like to honor those who served with a special Veterans Day program in November. The library plans to coordinate interviews with veterans and participating local high school students in October. The interviews will be recorded and the questions, pre-arranged. With the participants' permission, the library would like to add the recordings to its local history collection and present the final versions for their Veterans Day Program in November. Any veteran interested in sharing their experiences are asked to contact the Director of the Library at (978) 874-7416.

Circle of Artists prepare for art exhibition

The Circle of Artists is planning their second annual art exhibition on Saturday, Nov. 3, and Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Westminster American Legion Building, 127 Main St., Westminster. An opening reception will be held on Nov. 3, offering music and refreshments.

Art work will be done by participants of the Circle of Artist, local Westminster artists, and senior art students from Oakmont Regional High School will be shown.

There will be two special exhibits of an interpretive piece done by the Circle of Artists members.

Another special exhibit will be two cooperative art pieces based on two famous paintings, one done by Monet and the other by Van Gogh. Each artist painted a 16- by 20-inch panel from the painting, and then these panels were put together to form a whole.
