Cultural Councils get $4,000 grants to distribute

The Ashburnham and Westminster Cultural Councils each received $4,000 this year fromt eh Massachusetts Cultural Council.

State Reps. Lewis G. Evangelidis (RHolden) and Robert L. Rice Jr. (D-Gardner) as well as state Senators Senator Stephen A. Brewer (D-Barre) and Senator Robert A. Antonioni (D-Leominster) announced the awarding of the grants last week.

This support provides each town with grant money to be used for a wide range of educational and cultural experiences for children as well as members of the community.

The MCC is a state agency that promotes excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and sciences, in order to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents and contribute to the economic vitality of our communities.

The MCC is committed to creating a central place for the arts, sciences and humanities in the everyday lives of communities across the Commonwealth. The MCC pursues this mission through a combination of grants, services, and advocacy for nonprofit cultural organizations, schools, communities, and artists.
