Habitat says thanks, looks for volunteers
Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

Thanks to the organizers of the St. Denis Fair for putting on a great community event, despite the weather. The Ashburnham Habitat for Humanity project appreciated being given the opportunity to use the fair as a way to connect with members of the community about our worthwhile undertaking.

While we were at the fair, we raffled off note cards featuring original designs by Ashburnham artists Tyna and Louisa Donelson, who are donating all proceeds from the sale of cards to the Habitat project. (Stay tuned for more information about where to purchase the cards locally.)

We are preparing to enter into the building phase of the Ashburnham project, and there are many ways people can get involved. The group meets on the third Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Stevens Memorial Library. We need people to fill the following volunteer positions: Site Hosts to welcome and register volunteers; Site Host Coordinators to make sure site hosts are scheduled for the day, Snack Providers to stop by and provide mid-morning snacks, and Building Workers to help construct the house under the supervision of professionals. The building dates are usually Saturdays. You can sign up for as many (or as few) Saturdays as you like. You will be able to sign up by going to www.ncmhabitat. org and clicking on the Volunteer UP! logo, or by calling (978) 348-2749.

Together, we can build an affordable home with and for a deserving family.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Laura Jones at (978) 827-3232 or dogwoodlaura@aol. com.
