Priscilla Merriam, 84
Was an insurance broker; member of historical society

WESTMINSTER - Priscilla Merriam, 84, of 36 Academy Hill Road, formerly of 122 Day St., Fitchburg, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster after an illness.

Priscilla was born in Fitchburg on Dec. 7, 1922, the daughter of the late Frank E. and Nellie F. (Wright) Merriam. She was a 1940 graduate of Fitchburg High School. She was also a 1942 graduate of Pierce Secretarial School in Boston.

She was an insurance broker for Mrs. Frank E. Merriam, Real Estate and Insurance Agency from 1941 to 1969.

Priscilla was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Fitchburg and was also a Church Financial Secretary. She was a member of the Westminster Historical Society, the Fitchburg Art Museum, the Friends of the Fitchburg Public Library, the Friends of the Forbush Memorial Library, AARP, and was also a State Appointed Community Access Monitor.

She leaves several cousins and her good friends and neighbors, Denise and Brent MacAloney of Westminster.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Pricilla's name to the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Building Fund, 1200 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg, MA 01420.

The Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes directed arrangements.
