Historical Piano Concert's presents last concert of season

ASHBURNHAM - Historical Piano Concerts' 23rd fall season concludes on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m. at Ashburnham Community Church, corner of Main and Chapel streets.
Sarah Grunstein's program begins with Chopin's "Æolian Harp" Etude; two Ballades; four Mazurkas; and the Berceuse. The second half of the program will be Schumann's Carnaval, a suite of 21 short character portraits.
The piano for this concert will be the 1845 Pleyel of Paris from the Frederick Collection of Historical Pianos. Pleyel pianos were Chopin's favorite make during the 1830s and 1840s when these pieces were composed.
Sarah Grunstein performs internationally, having given concerts in the United States, Austria, Hungary, Italy, the United Kingdom, and her homeland, Australia. She received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and Bachelor and Master of music degrees from the Juilliard School where she held a teaching fellowship for four years following graduation. She has taught at the Manhattan School of Music, the City University of New York, Fordham University, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and the Victorian College of the Arts.
Grunstein performed a series of three concerts last season at Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall. She is currently assistant professor of music at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
This is her first appearance on the Historical Piano Concerts Series.
