Ghost Tours held throughout October Hear spine chilling tales of Fitchburg's past at a Fitchburg Ghost Tour. Walking tours are held every Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. throughout October, beginning at 880 Main St., (in front of the Boulder Café). Thrills at Haunted Mansion tours Halloween Costume World, located at 480 Water St., Fitchburg, features over 5,000 square feet and 17 rooms of chills throughout the month of October. Not recommended for young children. Call (978) 343-6666.

Spooky times at 'Terror in the Woods' The Leominster Recreation Department will host its annual "Terror in the Woods" haunted trail from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20, at Barrett Park, off Chestnut Street. Call (978) 534-7529.

Pumpkin painting offered Get ready for "Mall-oween" at The Mall at Whitney Field, Leominster on Saturday, Oct. 20. Kids Club members show your membership card to get into the "pumpkin patch" and paint your very own pumpkin from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Not a member? Sign up at Customer Service, membership is free. Fourth Annual Pumpkin Festival Camp Sunshine will host its Fourth Annual Pumpkin Festival from noon to 8 p.m. at City Hall Plaza, Boston. Halloween Safety Show A "Spooky, Goofy, Halloween Safety Show" - in honor of Tylor Pupecki - will be performed by Gregory McAdams at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Dr. Martin T. Feldman Children's Room, Leominster Public Library, 30 West St. Join the Pupecki family and friends to celebrate the memory of Tylor's life with magic, puppetry and laughs; all about being safe on Halloween. The Great Pumpkin Event Children of all ages are invited to carve pumpkins at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Memorial Hall, Townsend. Pumpkins will then be on display at the EcoTarium in Worcester for the Great Pumpkin Event from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. Spooky Movie Night First Parish Church Unitarian Universalist, 923 Main St., Fitchburg presents "Spooky Movie Night" at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, featuring the 1925 silent film classic, "The Phantom of the Opera." Great Pumpkin Fest 2007 The Great Pumpkin Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Ecotarium, 222 Harrington Way, Worcester. Annual bonfire lights up festivities The Friends of the Forbush Memorial Library and the Westminster Fire Department will sponsor its 11th annual Halloween bonfire and festivities on Wednesday, Oct. 31, in front of the Fire Station, South Street, Westminster. The bonfire will begin right after trick-or-treating (approx. 7:10 p.m.), followed by a costume parade at 7:30 p.m. The evening will feature prizes for costumes, apple cider and other treats.
