Emily E. (Sanderson) Harper, 94
Was a kind person; enjoyed her family above all else

WESMINSTER - Emily E. (Sanderson) Harper, 94, of Westminster, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, in Gardner, after an illness.

Emily was born in Waltham on March 7, 1913, the daughter of the late John and Emily (Ashness) Sanderson. She was a graduate of Waltham High School, class of 1928.

She worked as a hairdresser for many years at Grover Cronins in Waltham and then with her sister, the late Ruth E. (Sanderson) Condinho, at the Modernist Beauty Salon in Lexington. Upon retirement, she moved to North Platte, Neb. to live with her daughter and two grandsons for nine years. She returned to Massachusetts and resided in Littleton for 12 years before moving to Westminster.

She was a kind, and loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed her family above all else.

Emily leaves her daughter, Roni (Harper) Beal of Westminster; two grandsons, Gary H. Beal and companion, Samiko Cartin of Hyde Park, Vt. and Eric D. Beal and wife, Melanie DeSilva of Amherst; two great-granddaughters, Lillian and Ella DeSilva Beal; two nieces, Arline Perry of Farmington, Conn. and Edna O'Neill Mattson of North Kingstown, R.I., three nephews, Terrance O'Neill of E. Greenwich, R.I.; Theodore Coleman of Farmington, N.M.; and Robert Sanderson of Flemington, N.J. Emily was the wife of the late Ronald J. Harper, who died in 1968. She was also predeceased by three brothers and four sisters.

Wright-Roy Funeral Home in Leominster assisted family with arrangements. A private memorial service will be held at Tower Hill Botanical Garden in Boylston.
