Cold Stone Creamery to hold auditions

Cold Stone Creamery® will open its newst store in Orchard Hill Park Mall, Leominster, early next month. In preparation for the store opening, Cold Stone Creamery is in search of great people to actually work behind the stone.

Cold Stone Creamery holds auditions in order to find the perfect people to serve up Cold Stone Creamery's smooth and creamy mouthwatering Creations. Crew members are employees who greet each guest, make ice cream, brownies and homemade waffle cones fresh daily at each store, sing entertaining songs to the customers and customize each Creation ™ on a frozen granite stone.

The hiring process at Cold Stone Creamery stores is different than your typical interview and is unique since it really shows each applicant's true character. Instead of a standard question and answer session, the potential employees are encouraged to interact and participate in singing, dancing and role-playing.

All Cold Stone Creamery stores look for potential crew members who are outgoing, energetic, hard working, trustworthy, entertaining, and have a good work ethic.

"When we hold auditions, we give the candidates an opportunity to really ham it up and put their best foot forward," says Jennifer Quinn, store owner. "Sometimes standard interviews don't give teens the chance to express themselves and sell their best qualities."

Cold Stone Creamery's culture is based on its ice cream and sorbet, which are made daily in every store. Each Creation ™ is blended-to-order on a frozen granite stone with the customer's choice of mix-ins. These include soft freshly baked chocolate brownies, fruits and pie fillings, chocolate bars, sweet candies, cookies and nuts, creating a smooth and creamy texture, temperature, consistency and taste. Additionally, giant homemade waffle cones and bowls enhance the Creations for an unforgettable ice cream experience.

Each Cold Stone Creamery store employs an average of 20 to 30 local residents. Jovial, enthusiastic personalities are a plus for potential employees since workers are often encouraged by customers to perform a special, ice cream-themed song, rap or dance!

The hiring process is different than others and interviews are referred to as auditions. Interested individuals must perform in front of their peers, sing Cold Stone Creamery songs and "Bust a Move" during the audition.
