New Hampshire man arrested for sexual assault on a child Ashburnham Police arrested a New Hampshire man, charging him with five counts of sex crimes. Stephen T. Millette, 40, of Rindge, N.H., was arrested at the police station on Saturday after being questioned by police, said Chief Loring Barrett. Millette was charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, two counts of rape and one count of unnatural act with a child under 16. Police investigated the case, in which an 8-year-old Ashburnham girl was the alleged victim, after it was turned over to police by the Department of Social Services, said Barrett. Barrett said there appears to be only one victim in this case and that Millette was known to her. "It varies over several incidences and every time there is an incident there can be a charge," he said. Police investigated the matter for several days before questioning and arresting Millete. Millette was arraigned in Winchendon District Court on Monday morning. |
