Overlook cross country teams finish

The Overlook Boys' and Girls' Cross Country teams ran in the Wachusett and Quabbin invitationals on Saturday, Oct. 13, that included all the middle schools from Worcester County.

The boys ran in the Wachusett Invitational, which has been held since 1957. More than 140 runners were entered.

Christian Robichaud ran an outstanding race and finished third overall. Only one Overlook runner has finished higher in the 12 years that Overlook Cross Country team. Calvin Young out sprinted four runners up the finishing hill to have a super fifth place finish. The boy team finished second overall all. Also running well for the Eagles and contributing to their excellent result were Ben Weiderman, George Condon, Henry Condon, Justin Capone, Troy Richardson, Trevor Gammell, Alec Zbikowski, Elan Jackson, Tom Leblanc and Jordan Racine.

The girls' cross country team ran in the Quabbin Invitational that included more than 15 middle schools and 150 runners. Lauren Ouellette had an outstanding race finishing in the top 10. Also running well for the Lady Eagles were Jennifer Burke, Kerry Kopinsinkas and Sadie Zbikowski.

The teams conclude their season this past Wednesday in the Voit Lasilla Invitational after press time.
