FSC has violence prevention talk

FITCHBURG - Jackson Katz, an internationally recognized author, activist, filmmaker and educator on gender violence prevention, will addressing the college and community during a talk this month at Fitchburg State College.

Katz will appear from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the Main Lounge of the Hammond Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public.

The talk is the first event as part of the new Living Culture series, which is designed to generate student interest on campus to explore ideas of culture. The program brings multiple perspectives together to think about the importance of culture on our everyday lives, what it means to be a person within the American culture, and the ever-expanding global culture. It is coordinated between Dr. Margot Kempers, chair of the Behavioral Sciences Department; Dr. John Chetro-Szivos, chair of the Communications Media Department; and Shane Franzen, associate director of student development.
