Leamy and O'Hara win peace poster contest

Erin Leamy and Cassandra O'Hara won the first round of competition in the 2007- 2008 Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest.
The posters created by Leamy, of Ashburnham, and O'Hara, of Westminster, will move on to the District 33A competition to be held later this month.
If either of the artists win the district level competition then they will move up into large district level competitions and then into international rounds. One grandprize winner and 23 merit award winners will be selected.
The grand prize includes a cash award of $2500, plus a trip for the winner and two family members to New York City for the awards ceremony at Lions Day with the United Nations. The 23 merit winners will each receive a certificate and cash award of $500.
The Ashburnham and the Westminster Lions clubs, who sponsored the local contest extend congratulations to the winners and will present $50 checks to them for their efforts.
