Midgets lose to Texas team

The Division II New England Regional Pop Warner Champion Oakmont Chargers Midgets team lost when they took the field against the Southside Cowboys of Texas Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The team lost 27-14 to the Texas team from the Greater Houston area, which was the Southwest Regional Champions.

"I'd like to give the Oakmont Chargers a lot of credit," said Kevin Walker, the coach of the Southside Cowboys, in a press conferance after the game. "Those kids played a good ball game. They hustled on defense. They hit us in the mouth on defense. ... It was a termendous game."

The Chargers will now take the field against the Kahaluu Biee Broncos from Hawaii to make a run for the consolation championship title. The game is scheduled for this afternoon.

The Broncos lost to the Capital City Steelers of North Carolina Tuesday.

The winner of today's game will play for the Division II Consolation Championship.
