Ervin resigns from Westminster Board of Health
By Caitlyn Kelleher JOURNAL REPOTER

The Westminster Board of Health is seeking a new member after Dan Ervin resigned recently.

The three-member board is now functioning with two members, Edward Simoncini and Peter Munroe, until a joint appointment is made with Board of Selectmen. The new member would fill the position until the next annual town election in April.

Ervin submitted his letter of resignation at the board's meeting on Nov. 8, and the Board of Health notified the Selectmen at their last meeting on Dec. 5.

"Due to a change in our residence, we will be moving out of Westminster to Princeton and therefore, I will be unable to serve in that capacity," reads the letter.

In April the position will appear on the ballot for residents to elect Ervin's successor, who will complete Ervin's term in office that was scheduled to end in 2009.

Ervin was elected to the board in 2003 and re-elected in 2006.

The board is a regulatory authority and oversees the work of the health agent.

The board is interested in having a person in the medical field, said Health Agent Wibbi Swedberg.
