Ina M. (Siren) Hendrickson, 89
Was private duty nurse

WESTMINSTER - Ina M. (Siren) Hendrickson, 89, of 36 Gate House Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at The Highlands in Fitchburg after an illness.

Ina was born in Fitchburg on June 7, 1918, the daughter of the late Oscar and Saima (Lundgren) Siren. She graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1936 and then from the Burbank Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a private duty nurse, and retired as the industrial nurse from the Fitchburg Paper Company, where she was employed for many years.

Ina was a life-long member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Fitchburg, and sang in the church choir for many years. She was also an active member of the Messiah Guild Women's organization.

She was the wife of the late Walter A Hendrickson who died October 3, 1991. They were married in 1942.

They were predeceased by their only daughter, Diane (Hendrickson) Jenson in 1976.

She leaves one niece Carolyn Doerpholz of Greenfield, her sister-in-law Alva Modlinka of California, her cousin Barbara Palomaki of Fitchburg, and several cousins in Finland as well as her caregivers, Jim and Eila Eagle of Westminster. She is also predeceased by a sister, Helmi Karjalainen, and two brothers, Martin Siren and William Siren.

The Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
