Lions' pancake breakfast scheduled
      A Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 17, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the V.F.W. Hall on Eaton Street in Westminster. It is sponsored by the Westminster Lions Club and will benefit the Oakmont basketball program. The breakfast includes pancakes, with as many helpings as desired, ham, orange juice, coffee and milk.

Local students honored for work at FSC
      President Robert V. Antonucci of Fitchburg State College announced the names of area students included on the President's, Dean's, and Graduates lists for the fall semester and winter graduation. The President's List honors students for consistently high academic achievement. A student is placed on the Dean's List for the semester for earning grade point average of 3.

Legion seeks Boys State applicants
      Westminster's American Legion Post 174 is seeking boys interested in attending the 2008 Massachusetts Boys State program, which runs June 14 through June 20 -t Stone Hill College in North Easton. The program is a weeklong hands-on study of government open to boys completing their junior year in high school.

      The American Legion Auxiliary of Westminster is seeking female Westminster residents, in their junior year of high school, that are interested in attending the Massachusetts Girls State program to be held at Westfield State College from June 15 - June 20.

      FITCHBURG - The Nashua River Watershed Association is accepting donations for Auction 2008, its major fundraising event, to be held Saturday, March 29, at the Royal Plaza Hotel. The event will feature both live and silent auctions, as well as a new on-line auction component.

Holy Trinity to host Greek Dinner Dance
      FITCHBURG - Holy Trinity Church of Fitchburg will host an Apokriatiko Glendi "Greek Dinner Dance" on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Colonial Hotel, 625 Betty Spring Road, Gardner. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Donation is $50 per adult, $25 per child under the age of 12.

Auditions to be held for 'Alice in Wonderland, Jr.'
      GARDNER - Theatre at the Mount will hold auditions for the children's musical "Alice in Wonderland, Jr." Director Emily Smith, music director Sandie Couture and choreographer Nicole Couture are looking for a large cast of children and teens (age 8 to 18) with singing, dancing, and acting ability.
